DIVISION Three leaders Bremhill View probably couldn’t believe their luck on Sunday afternoon as news filtered through that two of their closest promotion challengers had suffered shock defeats, meaning that their 7-3 win over White Horse B saw them open up a three-point gap on the chasing pack.

While both Worton & Cheverell and Rowdy Cow Rowde were dropping points to respective opponents Oakhill and Miller Sports B, Bremhill went about their business as usual.

Kieron Gleed put Bremhill in front, but goals from Ismail Negraj and Dan Sanpford turned the game in favour of White Horse.

Kieron Gleed went on to score four, Ben Redford, Billy Gleed and Steve Allison adding the others. Rob Hart added the third for White Horse.

Having beaten Miller Sports B 4-2 at the start of the season, Rowdy Cow Rowde would have expected to pick up another three points when the teams met at the Beeches, Shaw.

But on a day of upsets, it was Miller who tore up the formbook as they avenged that defeat with a 7-3 win.

Lewis McMullen had a game to remember for Miller, scoring a hat-trick, which were his first goals for the club. Nathan Drew and Harry Waylen scored two apiece. Dean Taccuso, Matt Lever and Bradley Whitbread were on target for Rowdy Cow.

For Old Road FC and FC North Wiltshire, it was a classic case of a game of two halves with the first 45 minutes going the way of the former and the second period belonging to North Wilts as they overturned a 2-0 deficit to claim a 2-2 draw.

James House scoring a first-half double for Old Road and Dan Deacon replaying with a couple in the second half to earn North Wilts their draw.

The Mallard FC ended a four-match losing streak with a 3-1 home win over Melksham Forest Community Centre and, in doing so, eased their own relegations fears at the expense of their opponents whose defeat leaves them just outside the drop zone.

Jamie Barry, James Terry and Jason Dawson gave Mallard a 3-0 lead before Steve Badger netted for the Forest.

After suffering their first lost of the season last weekend when they were beaten by Corsham Centre Youth, long-time leaders Worton & Cheverell endured a second successive defeat going down 3-2 at home to Oakhill.

Kurtis Marsden twice put Worton ahead and on each occasion Robbie Burton restored parity for Oakhill whose winner came via a Tom Webb volley.
