TEAMS from the Chippenham Sunday League had a mixed day in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup with five teams booking their place in the last 16. AFC Melksham had a brilliant 8-1 victory at Salisbury League outfit Laverstock & Ford.

James Dark top scored with a five-timer, Sean Fordham, Dave Macey and Brett Partner added the others. Bremhill View made the marathon journey to Cricklade Park Rangers for their first-ever outing in the Sunday Cup and the Swindon League was no match for Ben Redford’s visitors who won 5-0.

Tom Sigee scoring four, and Billy Gleed the other in the easy win.

Third division sides Oakhill and The Grapes United went head to head at Buckley Barracks and it was the latter who will take their place in the next round thanks to a 6-0 success.

A Stuart Barber double and a Jack Henwood own goal gave Grapes a 3-0 interval lead.

Emilio Menghini, Tom Robinson and Nigel Hall added goals in the second half to make up the half dozen.

Joe Hylands scored twice and Brentley Roberts once for Pheasant FC at home to Tidworth Town FC but it wasn’t enough as two goals each for Adam Graham and Andrew Grubb along with a Liam O’Nell single earned Tidworth a 5-3 win.

Third Division side FC St George started their Sunday Cup match away at fellow league side The Castle FC with just 10 players and played the second half with nine so it was little surprise that the Castle won 6-1.

Liam Hill with two, a goal each for Gary Campbell, Alex Surman, Jamie Waters and Martin Robinson did the damage. Bradley Edwards replied for St George.

Steve Ball scored the lone reply for Westbury Conservative Club as they slipped to a 5-1 Sunday Cup loss at home to Salisbury League side Rose & Crown.
