FOR second successive weekend, the league's fixture programme was severely disrupted by the weather with waterlogged pitches leading to just nine of scheduled 21 matches being played.

A game that survived the rain was the A M Print & Copy-sponsored Knockout Cup first round clash between first division Pheasant FC and top flight Potterne CFC, who needed extra time before claiming an 8-6 win.

The match was a classic as Pheasant led 2-0 at the break, Richie Bolter scoring both goals, his first coming the penalty spot while his second saw him calmly round the keeper before finding the net.

A Josh Legg screamer made it 3-0 and when Bolter completed his hat-trick with a deflected effort to put Pheasant 4-0 in front it should have been tie over.

Potterne then staged a remarkable comeback. Matt Taccuso started the ball rolling and goals from Darren Brown and Ben House got them to within one goal before Bolter added his fourth of the morning to give Pheasant a 5-3 lead.

Tom Lye netted a fourth for Potterne and with almost the last kick of the 90 minutes a Conner Brown own goal saw the scores tied at five apiece.

Extra time saw Andy Fisher put Potterne in front for the first time, Richie Bolter levelled matters for Pheasant with his fifth of the game but it proved to be in vain as goals from Ben House and Lee Himsworth saw Potterne complete the amazing turnaround.
