MELKSHAM Cosmos brought the curtain down on a difficult campaign with an 8-3 win over seven-man Westbury Rangers.

Goals from Joe Griffiths and Dean Moore gave Cosmos a 2-0 interval lead. Sean Meer, Graham Griffiths, Matt Bowden, Chris Healey, Shaun Heathcote and Gary Jenkins shared the others. Liam Griffiths, with two, and a Dan Cox found the net for Westbury.

Goatacre CC FC played their last-ever game in the league with just eight players and unfortunately for Sam Parish side were beaten 10-3 at The Castle FC, who can still finish as top flight runners-up should next Sunday’s match between The Pack Horse and Corsham Wildcats end in a draw.

Goatacre took the lead through a brilliant induvial goal from Tom Boakes.

Jay Walters restored parity after being set up by Nathan Emm who then got Castle back on level terms for a second time after Jack Haines had headed Goatacre back in front.

Luke Enderby’s finish into the bottom corner saw Castle take a 3-2 interval lead.

After the break, Goatacre ran out of steam and both Emm and Walters went on to complete their hat-tricks with two more goals apiece.

Alex Surman and Gary Campbell’s double strike made it 10-2 before Hamilton bagged a third for Goatacre.
