THE Mallard claimed the result of the day in the Preliminary round of the Ken Clarke-sponsored WG Parr Trophy.

Trailing 2-0 at home to second division stablemates FC North Wiltshire, Andy Adams turned the game on its head as they fought back to claim a 3-2 win.

North Wilts, who suffered a shock Knockout Cup defeat last weekend, looked all set to put that behind them as goals from Titus Eusablo and Ryan Day put them two up.

James Terry started the Mallard revival and Michael Brett got them back on level terms before Brett fired in his second to clinch the remarkable fightback.

Calne United went into their clash with AFC Rowde on the back of a stunning Knockout Cup win over first division Sutton Benger.

Having already shared a 2-2 draw at the start of the season, another closely thought contest was predicted and so it was to be as Calne claimed a 2-1 win.

A Troy Hawkes own goal gave Calne the lead, but this was cancelled out by a goal at the right end for Hawkes.

With everything to play for in the second period, it was Matt Fenn who came up trumps with the winner for Calne.

Second division Christian Malford looked to cause an upset when hosting First Division, FC Lacock however things went to form with Lacock claiming a 7-2 win. Ryan Ross led the scorers for Lacock with a hat trick, Josh Hard netted a brace and a goal each for Adam Stevenson and Kieran Hard made up the 7. Ashley Fletcher and Scott Evans replied for Malford.

With no win from their opening four league fixtures FC Bradford were hoping for some respite when they hosted first division rivals Corsham Oak who had already beaten them 4-0 just a fortnight ago.

Once again it was Corsham who emerged triumphant, this time winning 6-2.

Andy Woods and Jake Ener scored either side of Jake Mazan’s first half leveller for Bradford.

Andy Wilkins and Kevin Bance put Corsham 4-1 up before Steve Bryant netted a second for Bradford. Aaron Masson and a second for Woods, who had opened the scoring, made up the winners' half dozen.

The all-second division clash between FC St George and Westbury Conservative Club went the way of the former, Mike Payne’s side coming out on top in a nine goal thriller as they claimed a 5-4 win.

Craig Sheppard and Bradley Edwards gave St George a 2-0 lead, before Bradley King-Taylor halved the deficit from the penalty spot.

A Matt Harrison own goal saw St George regain a two-goal cushion. Steve Knight scored direct from a corner to give Cons’ hope of getting back in the game but incredibly at the other end Harrison put through his own net for a second time.

Cons’ Club responded once again through a second from King-Taylor only for Edwards to make it 5-3 to St George with his second of the tie.

The final say went to Cons’ Harrison, who found the right net to claim some redemption for his earlier own goals.

First Division Pheasant FC are among a clutch of teams expected to do well in this terms Parr Trophy and the Chippenham-based side got their challenge up and running with a comfortable 4-1 win at third division Fox & Hounds (Warminster).

Richie Bolter opened the scoring on the way to a three-timer for Pheasant, however Fox & Hounds managed to get back on level terms prior to half time as a neat finish from Greg Richardson brought the scores all square.

Josh Legg’s 16-yard finish regained the lead for Pheasant before Bolter added his second and third.

Lavington Rangers and Calne BFC will be sick of the sight of each other by the time the season concludes. Their meeting in the Parr Trophy was the first of four the first division rivals will encounter this term.

Lavington, who back in March reached the last four of the competition, started what they hope will be another exciting cup run with an 8-1 triumph.

Cullen Wylie’s goal on 10 minutes was wiped out by Jamie-Lloyd Davies equaliser for Calne, however the visitors to Market Lavington found themselves 3-1 down at the break as Jacob Rogers and Cameron Lee put the hosts in charge.

Jamie Hall’s 50th-minute goal stretched his teams advantage further. Tayler Worthy, two more from Rogers to complete his hat trick and a Richard Chaffey own goal made up the winners' eight.

Last season’s beaten WG Parr Trophy finalists Somerford had a trouble free passage into the final 16.

Trevor Rawlings' Premier Division leaders were drawn at home to second division FC Pig & Whistle who only last week suffered an 11-0 loss to Faded FC.

The Pig were unable to raise a side for the cup clash giving Somerford a walkover into the next round.
