THE only first division fixture at the weekend saw Pheasant FC host local rivals Sutton Benger in what was a local derby for the sides and it was Pheasant who claimed the bragging rights thanks to a 6-3 success.
Josh Legg curled home a 35 yarder to give Pheasant the lead, Richie Bolter went one-on-one with the Benger keeper and tucked the ball away for 2-0 and a Richard Hudson penalty made it 3-0 before Simon McCarthy reduced the deficit for Benger.
Another cool finish from Bolter making it 4-1, before Benger upped their game and got back in the contest.
After being denied a second by a fingertip save from Del Llewellyn, James Weston scored from the penalty spot and when the same player headed in his second of the game for 4-3 it was game on.
Although Benger pressed looking for an equaliser they were unable to find it and when Legg beat the offside trap to net for 5-3 and Bolter followed up to tap home for his hat-trick after Rob Pocock had struck the post, the game was decided.
