MELKSHAM-BASED Forest AFC ended a four-match winless run in Division Three with a 7-4 victory over a White Horse (Sunday) B outfit.

Chris Storey may have given White Horse B the lead but the Westbury-based side found themselves 5-1 down before staging a spirited comeback.

Danny Ashwood's two efforts put Forest 2-1 ahead at half time.

Substitute Brentley Roberts made it 3-1 and a fourth goal of the season for Lee Fordham extended the lead before Roberts scored his second for 5-1.

It was at this point the inspired substitution for White Horse saw Click Black and Tom Lucas get their team going in the right direction.

Nick Mead clawed a goal back, Lucas himself cut the gap even further and when Mead drove in a brilliant free kick a point seemed a possibility.

In the ascendancy and pushing for an equaliser White Horse were dealt a killer blow as Roberts completed his hat-trick to make it 6-4 with just four minutes remaining and a short while later Forest keeper Mark Gee converted from the penalty spot to wrap up a 7-4 win for the home side.

The Foresters Arms, who suffered a 5-3 loss when they met Fox & Hounds (Warminster), took maximum points in the return match as a 3-1 victory saw them claim a third straight win in all competitions.

Charlie Jones, Sean Horobin and David Williams shared Foresters goal while Myles Woodward was on target for Fox & Hounds.

After shipping six goals away at Fox & Hounds (Warminster) last weekend, AFC Rowde returned to the same venue for their meeting with Warminster Wanderers and for a second successive Sunday they were hit for six as they were beaten 6-3.

Simon Trebble saw his opener for Rowde cancelled out by Scott Howse and incredibly there were no further goals in a first period that saw both teams have plenty of chances.

After the break, Trebble added two more for Rowde, but his goals were in vain as Howse grabbed himself a further two that completed his hat-trick. Tom Wheeler, Ollie Nash and Alex Bates shared the others.
