SECOND Division North Star Club kept their hopes of lifting the Ken Clarke-sponsored WG Parr Trophy alive after they came from behind to be first division Cavalier 4-1 in their quarter-final clash.

Adam Bewley gave Cavalier a first-half lead, but in the second half they were picked off by a Star side whose goals came from Kieron Gleed, Jake Gleed, Ryan Witchell and Clive McDaid.

After a uninspiring first half showing Parr Trophy favourites FC Bradford finally got the job done away at second division Calne United to claim a 6-2 win.

Rich Traini twice gave Calne the lead, but on each occasion Harry Hamlin netted to restore parity for Bradford. After the break Bradford upped their game and eventually progressed with ease as Hamlin completed his hat-trick and goals from Steve Bryant, John Carroll and Damien Moran sealed their semi-final spot.

Top-flight Westbury Rangers overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to see off a brave challenge from first division Sutton Benger, but needed extra time before claiming a 4-3 success.

Goals from Ben Butterfield in the 25th and 43rd minutes put Benger in a good position and they held out until the 65th minute when Matt Mead scored from the spot to reduce the arrears.

Mark Young’s 78th-minute effort got Rangers back on level terms and with neither team finding a winner in normal time and extra 30 minutes was needed.

After a goalless first 15 minutes, quick-fire goals from Josh Gardner and Jon Hogarth early in the second period put Westbury 4-2 ahead. Benger scored late on through Marc Edwards but it was to count for nothing.

Premier Division outfit Calne BFC advanced to the semi-finals without kicking a ball after their were awarded their quarter-final tie when opponents The Mallard were unable to raise a side.
