COME Sunday afternoon we should know the line up for this season’s Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy final.

Bremhill View Social Club are already through to April’s final at Corsham Town’s Southbank ground, but they want to know which of their first division stablemates Gladstone Sports or Bromham (Sunday) they will be going head to head with. The second semi-final is to be played at Yatton Keynell on what promises to be a sun drenched Sunday morning.

Bromham are probably slight favourites to claim a victory due them having beaten Gladstone 3-1 in their only league meeting to date back in January.

But with the teams set to meet each other in the league next weekend this game is massive and is the one they both will want to win.

With both teams struggling at the wrong end of the table and it might come as a surprise to many that they have reached the latter stages of the competition.

Of the two sides it would be fair to say that Bromham, who started their cup run with a 6-0 victory over second division British Lion, have had the slightly harder route to the last four.

Next up for Bromham were third division Black Horse they beat 7-6 in one of the games of the competition to date.

A quarter-final battle against last season’s beaten finalists and one of their campaign's pre-tournament favourites AFC Bell also from Division One saw them tare the formbook up as they hammered their hosts at Nurstead Road 7-2 to make through to the semi-final stages. Bromham’s opponents Gladstone Sports began their cup adventure with a 3-0 success at third division Blue Circle (Sunday).

Gladstone’s second round opponents were second division promotion hopefuls and beaten Knockout Cup semi-finalists Crown FC (Rowde), who were expected to coast to the next round.

But after 120 minutes and a penalty shootout Gladstone defied the pundits as they won through 5-4 on penalties.

A 2-0 semi-final win over AFC Calne booked them their showdown with Bromham and their chance to make a final since 2001 when as Chippenham Black Horse the beat Colerne A 2-0 to lift the Trophy.
