BRADFORD Town made it two wins in five days with an emphatic league defeat of Hallen at Trowbridge Road in midweek.

Paul Shanley’s men had previously booked their place in the FA Vase fourth round with a 4-3 success at home to Odd Down last Saturday.

Twaine Plummer led the charge against Hallen and bagged a brace, while Sam Jordan, Mike Reaney and Mark Wall were also on target for Town.

The victory was built on a rampant first-half display, with the points already wrapped up thanks to a hefty 4-0 cushion.

Boss Shanley said: “I’m delighted with that result and we just wanted to make sure we carried on from where we started on Saturday.

“The cup competitions have been good to us and I said to the lads it’s now time we matched that in the league.

“We hadn’t won a game in the league since October 25 before Wednesday, so it’s important that we’ve got back to form there.

“It’s quite a tight league and I think the three points last night has pushed us up into the top eight.

“The first half was very good. We were 4-0 up and I don’t really think we could have played a lot better.

“At half-time it was a case of keeping everyone motivated. You can get a bit complacent when you’ve been so in control and perhaps that crept into our game a bit in the second half but I can’t really moan.

“Sam got a goal again, Twaine got two after getting two on Saturday as well, Mike also scored for the second game in a row, and Mark has been popping up from midfield and getting goals for us all season.

“Everyone’s chipping in and it’s good we’ve got players who can do that.”

Bradford are back in cup action on Saturday and travel to Wootton Bassett Town in the Wiltshire Cup.
