THANKS to the efforts of both Heytesbury and Westbury United Reserves, the Trowbridge Windows & Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge League avoided a second successive washout.

With their own pitch at Meadow Lane scheduled to be used by their first team, Marc Lanfear accepted Heytesbury’s offer to move the game to their Park Street pitch, the venue of the villagers' 3-0 success in December.

Like the first meeting it was Heytesbury who came out on top, a 10-0 win taking them to the summit of the first division table.

Heytesbury scored on two minutes, great work between Jamie Howse and Liam Reid leading to Ashley Caws crossing to Leigh Kennedy who tapped in for 1-0.

It was 2-0 on 14 minutes, Chris Baker’s low drive from 30 yards finding it way in after Kennedy had stepped over the shot.

Kennedy himself made it 3-0 on 16 minutes following an assist from Howse.

Caws fired home number four in the 28th minute after more good work from Kennedy and Caws added his second and Heytesbury's fifth with an excellent solo finish on 32 minutes.

Heytesbury had to wait until the 60th minute before they found the net again, Shaun Tarr grabbing number six.

Caws completed his hat-trick on 66 minutes with the villagers' seventh of the afternoon and Declan Griffiths took it to 8-0 when he blasted home from 18 yards out in the 73rd minute.

Two goals in the final 10 minutes from Dan Dicks who, after being hauled down in the area, picked himself up to scored from the resulting penalty and Tarr, whose deft header from a Griffiths' flick on completed the scoring three minutes from time.
