FROME Town assistant manager Matt Bown is hoping his side will be able to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat when they face Biggleswade Town at home this weekend.

Bown’s men slipped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Salisbury last Saturday.

The first goal came just after 25 minutes when Thomas Wright cut in from the right hand-side before slotting the ball into the net to give Salisbury the edge.

After the break, it was more of the same, but this time defender Stephen Walker was able to kill the game by heading home a corner in the 57th minute.

Frome will now return to league action as they host Biggleswade on Saturday afternoon, with Bown asking for a reaction from his team.

“We were disappointed with the defeat last week, but it was just a case that we had too many key players missing in key areas,” he said.

“I wouldn’t say we were beaten by the better team but we huffed and we puffed but just didn’t really threaten.

“But that’s football, we just didn’t do what we have been doing well when we played. I’ll be looking for a reaction and to be fair, every time I’ve asked for one so far the lads have given me one.”

Injuries will be a concern for Frome, as they will now be without Sam Teele for the foreseeable future after he suffered ligament damage in the FA Cup defeat.

However, they will be boosted by the return of captain Dan Cleverly, Jake Jackson and Mitchell Page.

“We have a few walking wounded, but after training we will know who’s able to play. We need to wrap a few in cotton wool ahead of the weekend,” added Bown.
