A HAT-TRICK from top scorer Matt Morris has Bradford Town breathing down the necks of the top four in the Toolstation Premier Division following their 5-3 victory at home to Brislington.

Having also dumped Brislington out of the Les Phillips Cup two weeks prior, Danny Greaves’ side got off to the perfect start at Trowbridge Road.

Morris found the back of the net three minutes into the contest, before netting his second when he headed home Laurent Davis-Wilson’s cross to double the advantage.

Morris turned provider when his cross was turned home by Davis-Wilson before Morris wrapped up his hat-trick before the break from the penalty spot.

Having seen his initial spot-kick saved, Morris followed in the rebound to move above Dan Cottle as the club’s top scorer this term.

Neikell Plummer pulled a goal back for the visitors six minutes after the break, before Mark Wall restored Bradford’s four-goal cushion.

Brislington were not done there, however, as Danny Barwood notched before Michael Rimmer pulled back a third for the travelling side with 10 minutes left, but it proved too little, too late.

The win is Bradford’s sixth on the bounce in all competitions, having recorded a 3-1 win over Clevedon Town last Saturday, and puts them just two points off local rivals Melksham Town and the top four in the Premier Division.

It was another fast start from the visitors at the weekend as Cottle gave Bradford the lead inside six minutes.

Davis-Wilson made it two on 10 minutes before Wall wrapped up the game in the 35th minute.

Greaves now takes his side to Gillingham Town on Saturday as they look to progress to the quarter-finals of the Les Phillips Cup.
