DANNY Talbot has been included in the Great Britain training squad for the 2015 IAAF World Relay Championships.

The Trowbridge Tornado flew out to Florida last week for his customary spell of warm-weather training with coach Dan Cossins and his Bath University-based group of international athletes, which also includes Frome 400m sprinter Emily Diamond.

“Danny is building towards the World Relays and will be part of the 4 x 100 training squad here,” said Cossins.

“He will do one race at the Tom Jones Invitational on the last Saturday (of April). He'll run a 200m, 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m. He is in very good shape, healthy and we're looking forward to seeing what he can do.”

Talbot will spend all of April training in the Florida sunshine before joining the GB squad for the World Relays in Nassau, on the Bahamas, on May 2/3.

The Word Relays were launched last year and proved to be a huge success with the GB 4x100m squad finishing third behind Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.

Talbot featured in the heats when the GB team clocked 37.93secs – the fourth fastest ever in British history – but was then surprisingly dropped for the final. He will be hoping to rectify that this year.

The former St Augustine’s School student had a low key indoor season over the winter experimenting over 400m and taking a break from the 60m. He clocked a personal best of 47.84secs.
