Bradford on Avon Swimming Club’s junior water polo initiative continues to go from strength to strength.
There are more than 20 youngsters training at the Bradford pool on Wednesdays nights – and the next generation of players taking their first steps in this Olympic sport at the Stonar School pool on Thursdays.
In their latest match, Bradford took a 14-and-under team to Cheltenham, home of the British League men’s champions, and showed great promise in a 6-5 defeat.
Many of the squad are expected to be involved in Wiltshire’s team for the South-West 14-and-under inter-county tournament.
Two players – Joe Ashworth and Ben McNab – will be playing for the South-West in the 13-and-under national inter-district championships on December 10-11, the first time the Bradford club has achieved any regional representation at any level.
Bradford’s men’s team rounded off their season in the Bristol & West League with a 16-11 win over Devonport Royal.
