JACKIE Rockliffe ensured she will never forget her debut for England as she played her part in superb gold medal team success.
The 46-year-old mum, from Trowbridge, was selected to represent her country for the first time at the British & Irish Masters Cross Country International in Glasgow on Saturday and justified her place with fourth spot in the over 45s age group.
“I missed out on an individual bronze medal by four seconds,” said Rockliffe.
“It was very tough and the most competitive race I have ever taken part it in but there was a fantastic atmosphere.”
Rockliffe was England’s second scorer in the gold-medal winning team, with team-mate Mandy Vernon, of Trentham, leading the way with overall victory.
