CALNE Town opened their season on Tuesday night against Soutbrook, , running out winners 2-0 thanks to a 20-yard free kick from Ben Munns and a close range effort from Jamie Lloyd- Davies in the second half, writes RAY BURROUGHS.

Marlborough Town were beaten 2-1 at home by Shrewton, who netted both goals in the first half.

The home side rallied after the break and pulled a goal back from the penalty spot courtesy of Giovani Disando.

Gavin Allen scored the only goal of the game for Purton Redhouse against Moredon Cheney on the hour and was then sent off a few minutes later after a second yellow card.

Last season’s champions New College made up for their defeat on the opening day by beating AFC N Power 6-0, John Rees netting a hat-trick with two from Todd Hathaway and one from Ryan Stanners.

Newcomers Chalke Valley and AFC Amesbury treated spectators to an entertaining game with victory eventually going the way of Chalke Valley 3-2.

Seb Dawes, Josh Baldwin and Tozzie Judd netted for the home side.
