CUMBERWELL Park's Laurie Canter made his second successive cut on the European Tour in Australia this morning, but there was disappointment for clubmate Steve Surry on the Golf Coast.
Canter, who earned his European Tour card for 2016 two weeks ago and followed up by making the cut in South Africa's Alfred Dunhill Championship last week, carded a second-round 70 to qualify for the final two rounds at the RACV Royal Pines resort in Queensland.
Delighted to put yesterday behind me and make the weekend here at the #aussiepga 💨☀️🌧☔️

Four birdies and just two dropped shots were enough for the 26 year old two made it through to the weekend as he bounced back well from an opening 79 on Thursday.
Trowbridge's Surry however, slipped out of contention after adding a second round 77 to his opening 76.
Disappointing to miss the cut very tricky course, looking forward to getting home for some rest, few days in oz to enjoy first

Back-to-back double bogeys at the 16th and 17th - his eight and ninth having started on the 10th - proved costly as he played the first nine in 40 shots, his solitary birdie of the day arriving at the sixth - his 15th.
