THE final day of the Australian PGA Championship proved tough for Cumberwell Park's Laurie Canter on the Gold Coast this morning.

The 26 year old, playing his first full season as a European Tour playing rights holder, carded a 78 at

RACV Royal Pines Resort this morning to end the tournament just outside the top 50.

Canter will return home having made the cut on his first two European Tour events after securing his 2016 card through qualifying school last month.

Australia’s Nathan Holman secured a career-changing victory adefeating South African Dylan Frittelli and American Harold Varner III at the first extra hole of a sudden-death play-off to lift the prestigious Joe Kirkwood Cup and secure full playing rights on The European Tour as well as entry to The 2016 Open Championship.
