AFTER an unconvincing pre-season West Wilts got their season off to an emphatic start with a brilliant display against Bath Buccs.

Despite a series of superb saves from the Bath goalkeeper, it didn't take long for Wilts to open the floodgates.

Goals from Jess McLean, Amanda Robson, and a converted penalty corner by Livvie Evans saw the home team underline their dominance, taking a 3-0 lead into half-time.

After the break Wilts were quickly rewarded for their superior possession and made it 4-0 with a well taken goal from new-recruit Charlie Perkins.

With the game wrapped up the Warminster-based club were able to stroke the ball around with confidence, and the chances kept coming. Evans secured herself an opening-game hat-trick with two well-taken goals The vistors, capitalising on a careless defensive mistake, managed to salvage some pride with an away goal.

But the hosts were in a clinical mood and well-timed tap in from Nicci Foster completed the rout, drawing to an end to a spectacular opening game for West Wilts.
