FC Chippenham Youth A's first league match of the season saw them take all three points with a 4-2 home win over Steeple Ashton Reserves who find themselves struggling at the bottom of the table.

Tom O'Cain opened the scoring for FC Chippenham before Josh Hodges doubled the lead after 20 minutes. Ashton Reserves then fought back and scored two goals through Gary Collins and Dan Filer to make it 2-2. FC Chippenham regained the lead on the stroke of half-time when Josh Hodges scored his second goal of the match with a tap-in.

The second half saw very few efforts on goal but John Cole did manage a fourth goal for FC Chippenham to make the final score 4-2.

North Bradley AFC 1, Foresters 2

THIS mid table clash of the new boys saw Foresters climb into third spot after taking a 2-1 victory.

The first period was played out with both teams unable to capitalise on their chances and finished 0-0. Foresters started out the second half meaning the business and found themselves in front after a strike from Matthew Spear and the lead was doubled on 50 minutes through Gavin Klukowski.

North Bradley came back into the match as the second half went on and scored their goal from Lee Trainor, but they could not repeat the feat and Foresters held on for the win.

The Stiffs 3, Mere Town YDT 2

THE Stiffs continued their fine start to the season with a third straight win and a league and cup double over Mere Youth.

The Stiffs started stronger, creating and missing several chances before Nathan Litterick fired them ahead after a fine through ball by Bryn Holt.

This appeared to fire Mere into action and they had the better of the play for the rest of the first half and only desperate defending and fine goalkeeping allowed the Stiffs to maintain a slender lead at half-time.

Mere continued the second half where they left off and equalised after 50 minutes after some sloppy defending, Adam Scourse grabbing the goal.

The Stiffs then came back to life and took the lead through Mike Ritson after 55 minutes after another decisive pass by Holt. The Stiffs continued to push forward and scored again as Christian Player took his tally to six goals in three games. Player then went onto miss several gilt-edged chances to kill off the game.

The Stiffs then changed three players and allowed Mere to score a second goal in the dying minutes through Lewis Sheppard, but The Stiffs went onto secure what was a deserved victory against a spirited Mere side, running out narrows winners of a good game played in the correct spirit.

Westwood 3, Bratton Reserves 1

WESTWOOD retain second spot in the table after overcoming Bratton Reserves 3-1.

Bratton got off to a good start in the match, taking the lead through Shane Reynolds, but from then on it was all Westwood, with Graham Anderson equalising just before the interval.

The second period saw Westwood go from strength to strength and wrap up the match with further goals from Duncan Frew and Tom Downes.
