IT WAS quite disappointing to have our game against Herefordshire abandoned because we got ourselves into a decent position and played some really good cricket.

We were in a little bit of bother Sunday morning when we lost a couple of wickets but the guys bounced back, we had some really good innings.

Will Wade, who is 17 years old, hit another 70 which is a useful contribution, there are a number of players who got themselves in and scored really well, it was a good team effort to get 400-odd.

It was frustrating that we were interrupted, on Sunday we were a bit disappointed with the first hour of bowling because we leaked a few runs.

We knew on the Monday afternoon there would be rain coming, it was just a case of trying to get as much cricket in as we could.

We obviously didn’t know how much rain we were going to have, we planned to turn up on the Tuesday morning and bowl them out to win the game.

The problem is when we got to the ground, they have a vast amount of covers and the water got under them and there was no chance.

Our next opponents are Shropshire who are doing well, they’ll be coming down to Devizes with a view to try and win the championship.

They’ll be looking to impose themselves so we have to put a good performance together, not like last year when Oxford came down and were in with a chance of winning the championship.

This time we have a young side, who are playing well at the moment and we’ll give it our best shot to try to win the game.

They don’t know some of the players who are playing, they will just go into it and play their natural game and that can bodes well for us.
