Former drayman at Bath Brewery Mr Edwin Albert Hillier died at his home in Westbury on December 24, aged 76.

Mr Hillier was born in Hawkeridge, Westbury, to parents Jack and Winifred.

Known as Ted, he grew up as the third brother of six alongside Johnny, David, Roy, Kenny and Cliff.

Educated in Westbury, he left school aged 13. He eventually joined Bath Brewery as a drayman, where he would spend the rest of his working life and was recognised for his long service.

After retiring Mr Hillier kept himself busy by gardening and driving elderly ladies to the shops.

Mr Hillier married his first wife, Muriel, when only young. They had a son, Robert, and after her death in 1986 he met his second wife Rose through their membership of various social clubs in Westbury. They were married in Warminster register office on May 29, 1989.
A keen skittles player in Westbury, Mr Hillier was a social person who enjoyed a good laugh and chat with people. He leaves his wife Rose, son Robert, and grandsons Ian, Ryan and Kieran.
His funeral will be held at West Wiltshire Crematorium at Semington today (Friday) at 11am. Donations in his memory can be made to Dorothy House Hospice.
