Just yards from the Old School in Southwick lies one of the village’s finest historic houses, The Old House. This grade two Flemish bond brick house dates back to the early 18th century.
The L-shaped house, with an added wing to the rear, was originally known as The Poplars and is on the same side of the road as The Farmhouse Inn, hidden from the road by a hedge and trees with only the imposing front door visible from the road giving an idea of its grandeur. It was listed in September 1968.
