To Kevin Craven, CEO, Balfour Beatty Services: We have been having terrible trouble with grass cutting all around Bradford on Avon. On one occasion the crew could not find a five-acre site in Poulton, Trowbridge Road or Sladesbrook Park. Perhaps they found the same difficulty with Westbury Gardens, even though it is in the centre of town?

The situation there was so bad that the Mayor, Cllr John Potter, chairman of the Town Management Committee Cllr Laurie Brown and Unitary/Town Cllr Magnus Macdonald took it upon themselves to cut the grass because it was so long. They then had to take it all away, which took hours.

We are now sending you an invoice and the money will be spent on a town council event, the rededication of the war memorial on August 3.

Sandra Bartlett, Town Clerk, Bradford on Avon Town Council.
