We have lots of media, political and establishment hype telling us when and what we should be sorry, happy or sad about, like the current hype about World War One, with Cameron and BBC droning on about how they are putting the lights out at 11pm etc, the politicians, royal family, media, all getting on the bandwagon about how we had to fight.

Yet not one mention about the Kaiser, the one who should have been shot, not PC of course in today’s world. Politicians who cause the misery have the gall to tell us that we should be sorry for their errors.

There are those of us who do not need this sham show of concerns. I remember my grandfather who was in WWI, who never talked about it, and I saw his physical wounds but not his mental ones, he was always angry; I often wondered in later years was it because of his experiences or was he just an angry person. My dad was killed in WWII. I did National Service. What all people need do, instead of this orchestrated affair, is read two books: All Quiet on the Western Front and Black Beauty.
