The end of September saw the close of Poppy Appeal 2013 during which Trowbridge and surrounding villages raised an incredible £30,400 for this vital charity.
Hard to believe as we draw to the end of a wonderful Indian summer, but the start of Poppy Appeal 2014 fortnight is round the corner, from Saturday, October 25 through till Saturday, November 8 – and I need volunteers.
Over this period we will have collection points in The Shires, at all the major supermarkets and shopping centres and collectors will be going door-to-door in their neighbourhoods, offering poppies and other materials in exchange for donations.
