The Salvation Army in Trowbridge would like to say a huge thank you to all those who gave so generously to our Christmas Toy Appeal.
We were overwhelmed by both the quality and quantity of toys donated. It was clear from the number of children for whom we were asked to provide gifts that the need was greater than in previous years, but so too was the level of support from kindhearted members of the community.
We are also grateful to Tesco Extra in Trowbridge, Sainsbury’s in Trowbridge, Melksham and Bradford on Avon and The Shires shopping centre, Trowbridge, for acting as reception points for the toys. Our thanks also to the Wilt-shire Times for providing publicity for the appeal and acting as a further reception point for donations.
We are only able to distribute what we receive, but the generosity of response to the appeal enabled us to provide toys for more than 150 children who, without this support, would have awoken to little or nothing on Christmas Day. Together, we have been able to bring a little happiness into Christmas for some struggling families. Thank you all, on their behalf.
Major Kelvin Lang, The Salvation Army, Trowbridge Corps.
