What a treat to see the most recent missive from 'Mr Gibbs', of Church Street, Hilperton in your paper.
As ever, he doesn’t let facts get in the way of a vitriolic letter but, at least on this occasion, he isn’t boring us with his theory on why the Hilperton Gap should be covered in housing as soon as possible.
This brings me to an interesting point. Despite his claims to be a lifelong Hilperton resident, no one seems to have heard of him and I can find no record of his existence on the electoral register.
It has been suggested to me that ‘Mr Gibbs’ is actually writing under a nom de plume and using his mother’s maiden name. Should this be the case, it would clearly explain his position of being so in favour of building on the Gap.
It certainly seems a fishy situation and I’m sure that ‘Mr Gibbs’ (if he exists) will put me right via your letters column. Of course, he could contact me direct if he wishes....
