REGARDING the Tarmacadam round the war memorial in Bratton: who inspired this work to be done?

Who in their right mind would spend £12,000 upwards on digging up and resurfacing round Bratton war memorial? (No disrespect to the men and women it represents?.) With all the bad road surfaces in Wiltshire, worse than most other counties, I am reliably informed. It’s not even a road, only a turning point. It was given the whole works, it looked more like they were going to build a new motorway. There were road closed signs etc, traffic lights, more than a dozen men and nearly as many small lorries than you could imagine.

If this amount of effort can be put into this job what about all the other roads?
