FURTHER to my letter which you printed just before Christmas concerning litter and dog waste bins.

I received a letter back in response from Lance Allan, Town Clerk, in which he states that some residents of our town do not contribute to our council tax as they are in neighbouring parishes, even though their house may be directly next to ours.

To cut a long story short, this apparently, is the reason for lack of bins around our area and the town.

He also says, and I quote, “the town council would ask that you support our request so that your neighbours make a contribution as well as you, and then we will be in a position to make further improvements in your area of the town.”

Yes I do support that request and he also urges people to write to cgr@wiltshire.gov.uk to express their views on the proposed boundary review, which I have done.

But, in the meantime, as that review seems to be going on forever, litter and used doggie bags are being discarded everywhere. Many bins are like the one in the photo below, taken just four days after being emptied.
