HOW right Mr Cradock was in his letter regarding the Hilperton Gap. The people who are concerned about building on the Gap surely did not think Persimmon would build a road without requiring housing?
I have lived in Hilperton for over 50 years and developing in the Gap was talked about in the 60s, when the Bradford and Melksham RDC was our local council.
People in Hilperton have waited far too long for relief from the heavy lorries thundering through the village. There was an accident waiting to happen, almost sucking people off the pavements.
The people complaining are mostly newcomers and don’t realise that their properties were built on fields, which at the time we did not want. There was no concern when People in Marsh Road had their privacy taken when two housing estates were built. We did not want that.
It’s a question of not in my back yard but someone else can have the housing. I’m all right Jack.
