ON March 9, I had a nasty fall in my kitchen from which I suffered a very painful fractured left hip – in fact after landing on my back I thought I had actually broken by back.
After shouting for help, the ambulance service was called and arrived within 15 minutes and I was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Having never been there before, I did not know what to expect but I need not have worried. The treatment I received was exceptional, right from when I arrived at A&E where I had an X ray immediately, to the day I was discharged,
March 20.
We hear so much about the NHS (not always good things) but in my case they were wonderful. Where would we be without the NHS? I dread to think.
