AS a contributor to the council tax, I cannot say that I was overjoyed to hear your exciting news regarding the appointment of another extra top boss on a salary of £150,000 per year.
I am sure that the new incumbent will delighted to hear that their remuneration package will be the exact same amount as the other three existing corporate directors, who also all receive salaries of £150,000 each per annum.
I expect that Wiltshire council taxpayers will be dancing in the streets at this wonderful news. Whilst on the subject of streets, if by any chance after the salaries have been met, would it be possible to scrape together a few pounds from the bottom of the County Hall gold coffers to fund a new brush and waste bin? The streets of the county town of Trowbridge are an absolute disgrace.
As the new position will encompass health, could we possibly go back to basic cleanliness and hygiene? The street gutters and pavements are covered with fast food waste and general litter. I am led to believe that waste foodstuffs will encourage vermin.
I am sure any effort to make some improvement would be well received by the county town residents.
