I WAS one of the many unfortunate customers at the Trowbridge M&S on the opening day who received a parking fine for not displaying a ticket.
I appealed to Smart Parking who turned my appeal down, so I took my appeal to the Parking on Private Lane Appeals (POPLA). I have now received a letter from POPLA saying that my appeal has been successful as they state: “We are not satisfied that the signage on site is sufficient to inform motorists of the terms.”
I would urge anyone who has received a parking ticket at M&S from Smart Parking for not displaying a parking ticket to go on to the POPLA website and appeal, rather than pay the £80 fine, which I feel is just a money making scam by Smart Parking.
