I was sad to read last week that the well-established Trainwest annual model railway exhibition in Melksham may be ‘shunted out’ because of anticipated car parking problems in the future.

If Trainwest really is as busy as some football matches, wouldn’t it be good if First Great Western could be helpful and provide a few trains to help visitors to the exhibition, and keep a few cars off the congested roads?

Wouldn’t it be even better if First Great Western would provide the ‘model’ railway the fast-growing town of Melksham deserves, rather than the cynical and unhelpful service it currently provides, designed to keep FGW just the right side of the law, and no more?
