Police have now opened a road closed in Trowbridge earlier today while they investigated an incident after a man was found with serious head injuries.

A police spokesman said the victim is stable in hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be either life-changing or life-threatening.

The spokesman added: “We wouldn’t confirm the name of a victim in an incident like this and it is still too early for us to comment on what we believe may have caused the injury to the head.”

The police cordoned off Manor Road this morning as officers investigated there and outside The Ship Inn on Frome Road.

The police said there is no risk to the safety of the public.

It is believed that the man was found in the road at a place which was earlier covered in plastic sheeting.
