Thursday, July 17 until Saturday, July 19, the egg @ Theatre Royal Bath.

Kidulthood meets Shakespeare in an uncompromising tale of teenagers, drugs and crime, inspired by the classic tale of corruption, murder and mysticism.

Written entirely in modern rhyme, Max & Beth marks the emergence of a blistering new talent - a modern version of Macbeth written by Lowkey, a 22-year old rapper from London and this is his unflinching tale of knife-crime and teenage drug-pushers in an adult-less world. The style and content of the production has been very much led by the young company.

YPT Urban Arts is the egg's new young people's fusion of urban dance, rap and gritty modern drama, in partnership with the Bath-based Black Families Education Support Group. The cast includes young people who have accessed the egg through partnerships with Social Services, Youth Services, Youth Offending Team, Pathways Self Help Housing Association and the Young Company - the egg's partnership project with B&NES Secondary schools for students at risk of exclusion.

London rap artist Lowkey returns to Bath to present his debut play Max & Beth, following his performance at last year's TK Lyric Night, part of the egg's ongoing Teenage Kicks programme. Lowkey's live performances have included the Glastonbury Festival. Lowkey is also working on a debut album with Mongrel, a new band, whose line-up features past and present members of the Arctic Monkeys, Andy Nicholson and Matt Helders, Babyshambles guitarist, Drew McConnell, and Reverend and the Makers.
