Rock Diabetes, a concert to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, featuring local bands, takes place tomorrow at the White Horse Country Park in Westbury.
The event has already raised £2,500 through an auction of rock memorabilia, including a signed photos and books from Guns n’ Roses’ guitarist Slash, Cyndi Lauper, Pete Townsend and Metallica’s Kirk Hammetts, among others.
Performers will include Control the Storm, Hot Flex, Rock Dog, The Full Motley and Leander Morales.
Organiser Donna-Michelle Donkin, whose daughter Cerys-Anne Blake suffers from Type 1 diabetes, said: “We have a great PA system, thanks to a donation from Atkinson Equipment on the West Wilts Trading Estate. Hopefully we’ll raise the roof and lots of money for JDRF.”
The music runs from 2pm to 11pm, alongside crafts, games and face painting for children, and an outdoor play area. There is a bar with refreshments available.
