Wiltshire Council have said there have been no official road closures in the region but have advised commuters to only make necessary journeys.
A spokesperson said: “We have had gritters out and have been assisted by local farmers to ensure the roads are in the best possible condition but we’d advise motorists to never assume roads have been salted and exercise extreme caution when driving.
“Buses in the region are still running but travellers will experience delays because of the weather conditions. We expect the snow to stop around noon but then temperatures are expected to drop which will make things difficult later on."
The council have suspended waste and recycling collections for today while the snow has affected trade in the region's market towns.
Markets in Devizes Warminster and Chippenham have been cancelled while two traders are operating at Calne market.
