Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley spent 36 hours without power this weekend.
The power went out at 1pm on Friday and the hospice used their generator until the power was back on at 9pm on Saturday.
“It took Scottish and Southern Electricity Power Generation quite a while to find the fault, but they supplied our generator with diesel and we were able to maintain our services,” said Peter Lennard, director of finance at Dorothy House.
