Bradford on Avon is a step closer to reducing its carbon footprint after the unveiling of its first electric car charging station.
Two charging points at Beeches Farm House Bed and Breakfast were donated by Zero Carbon World, a UK charity that wants to reduce carbon emissions and promote electric car use.
Kevin Sharpe, founder of the charity, said: “This is a huge step and a big benefit to the town, as it is great for tourism, businesses and drivers.
Wiltshire Council is now planning to install two charging stations in the town’s station car park.
Other local sites are for members of POD Point network, a pay-as-you-go charging system, at Hitachi in Trowbridge and at Sainsbury’s in Odd Down, Bath. There is also a station at Platinum Renault in Trowbridge and Platinum Nissan in Box.
