Investigations are still ongoing into the fatal Trowbridge collision which police believe was connected to a Dorset murder.
A man driving a silver Toyota Yaris died following a head-on crash with a lorry on the A350 between Hagg Hill and Stoney Gutter at 6.20am.
Following investigations by Wiltshire Police and Dorset Police they found that the unidentified man may have been involved in the death of Ibrahim Youseuf, from Bournemouth, whose body was found at a house, in Boscombe, Dorset, at 12.34pm on Friday.
The identity of the Toyota driver remains unknown, with Dorset Police leading the enquiry.
Shocked friends have paid tribute to Mr Youseuf, 42, originally from Iraq, who was thought to be the owner of Five Star Car Wash, in Boscombe, which has been closed since Friday.
Roy Humby, who lives next door to the flat where Mr Youseuf was found, said: “He was a first class bloke. He had the business for five or six years and built it up from nothing really. I came back here (on Friday) and there were three or four police there and a couple of cars and I didn’t realise it was this serious.
“He was a friend; I gave him some help setting up the business. He was a really hard worker; he brightened up this end of the road to be honest. He became a British citizen a couple of years ago and was very proud of it."
An inquest into Mr Youseuf’s death opened this morning with police still working to identify the victim of the A350 crash.
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Team, said: “We are currently liaising closely with Wiltshire Police. The details of the deceased from the road traffic collision are currently unknown and we are attempting to identify the driver and contact the next of kin.”
Anyone with information can call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 11:46.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or events immediately prior to it is asked to contact PC David Williams of SCIT on 101. Alternatively people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
