A new volunteer recruitment website launched today, enabling local people considering volunteering in Wiltshire to find out more about what they can do.
The website www.volunteercentrewiltshire.org.uk highlights the types of volunteering, local volunteer stories and ways to get involved.
The website comes in direct response to the challenges which charities face in finding volunteers across the county.
It allows free volunteering opportunity advertising for all not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community groups and social enterprises.
Any role can be added to Volunteer Centre Wiltshire’s database and the website is free to use by anyone.
Simone Lord, manager of the Chippenham-based Volunteer Centre, said: “The driving force behind the website came from a desire to give volunteers a clear and simple means of accessing information about volunteering, and a central place for community groups to post their vacant opportunities.
"This will support the thousands of local residents who are eager to volunteer their skills.”
Volunteer Centre Wiltshire is part of local charity Develop Enhancing Community Support and regularly supports volunteers to find volunteering opportunities in their local communities.
To get involved or to find out more information log on to the website at www.volunteercentrewiltshire.org.uk or phone the team's volunteering support line Call-IT! on 0845 521 6224
