GRANTS worth more than £13,000 have been approved by Westbury Area Board, including £4,700 towards the running costs of the BA13 Community Area Partnership.
The board also approved a grant of £1,150 for Bratton Pre School. It is undertaking a project to create a shaded area in the garden, storage shed and flower beds.
Another six councillor-led applications were granted by the board, including £1,200 for child and parent activity sessions and £1,153 for the design and setting up of a website for Westbury Heritage Society.
Grants were also given for lighting on the footpath adjacent to Matravers School; computer equipment for the Silver Surfers; finance training and a laptop for Crosspoint volunteers; and £800 for the replacement of a heritage road sign.
