UK and NATO troops battled bad weather and treacherous conditions on Salisbury Plain while undertaking a three-and-a-half-day training exercise at the end of a course.
Exercise Lions Strike saw 37 students, including soldiers from the Warminster-based 1st Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, Y Company the First Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and the Royal Marines, take to the Plain with their NATO counterparts.
The exercise, which used Challenger 2 tanks and Warriors, forms the delivery phase of the three-week Combined Arms Tactics Course, which is designed for majors who are about to take command of sub-units, infantry companies and armoured units.
