Trowbridge mum Sonia Sansom is running the London Marathon to say thanks to children’s charity Afasic which has supported her son Ralph and helped him with speech difficulties.
Mrs Sansom, of Blind Lane, Southwick, has already reached her £1,200 fundraising target for the organisation, which helps children with communication impairments and keen to raise more.
She said: “It offers really good local support for children and their families. Nobody has really heard of the charity and I felt doing this may raise some awareness. Preparations are going well, I’ve run 20 miles so far and I should be ready.
“I’ve had really good support from family and friends and I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far.”
Mrs Sansom will be cheered on during the charity challenge, taking place in the capital on April 13, by Ralph, her husband Ben and other son Ted, nine.
