Police are advising motorists to avoid an area of Trowbridge as firefighters are tackling a large fire at Shanleys scrapyard.
The fire service was called to the scrapyard fire in Shails Lane at 9.39am and there are six fire engines, from Trowbridge, Melksham, Westbury and Bradford on Avon, in attendance, plus a water carrier.
In all, thirty firefiighters have been dealing with the incident which involves a large quantity of metal.
Police have closed Wicker Hill, Hill Street and Seymour Road and say there will be no access to the one way system there and are asking motorists to seek alternative routes.
