Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and environmental health officers from Wiltshire Council attended two homes in Cornbrash Rise, Trowbridge, over the weekend following reports of a strange odour.
The fire service is currently investigating the issue to find out a possible cause, but nothing has been discovered yet.
A Wiltshire Council spokesman said: “Following concerns raised by people living in two homes in Cornbrash Rise in Trowbridge, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and partners have been investigating the issue.
“Although nothing untoward has been discovered as yet, investigations into the possible cause continue and agencies are working in partnership with residents.”
