WEIGHT restrictions are to be introduced on roads running through villages near Warminster and Westbury.
Maiden Bradley, Chapmanslade and Corsley Heath have suffered for years from a large number of heavy goods vehicles using roads running through them, despite the fact they are not on designated freight routes.
Wiltshire County Council's cabinet will now try to protect them by issuing restrictions on the A3098 (Chapmanslade), the B3092 (Maiden Bradley) and the A362 (Corsley Heath) .
Councillors heard that the quality of life for residents in the three villages, was "deteriorating" as a result of the traffic nightmare.
